Back To School Tassel Garland

This Back To School Tassel Garland is SO quick & easy to make. Would be adorable for a back to school mom's brunch or for a welcome back bulletin board or in the staff room....

Back To School is going to be here before I know it and rather than let it take over like a hurricane, I’m going to embrace it and celebrate it with a Mom’s Back To School Brunch! So I don’t get overwhelmed with all the details I’m going to do a little each week so I have all of those thoughtful touches that I love without the added stress! Once I decided on my color scheme {natural kraft paper-ish & apple green} I was ready to get started with my first project a Back To School Tassel Garland!

ribbon for back to school tassel garland

  • tape measure ribbon cut to 12″ length *you can find this right now in your Target’s dollar section
  • thin loopy edge apple green satin ribbon
  • ultra thin apple green satin ribbon *you can find these for cheap at craft stores
  • thin jute twine
  • scissors

Start by arranging your ribbons for each tassel in separate stacks.

tiie the ribbons together to make a tassel

Tie each stack of ribbons together in a knot at the top.

Now you are ready to attach the tassels to the thin jute twine.

tie twine around the tassel to make into a garland

Tie the twine around the bottom of each tassel knot spacing the tassels out evenly and you’re done!

Back To School Tassel Garland

I’m going to hang my Back To School Tassel Garland on the chalkboard that hangs in our dining area over a drink buffet. Don’t the green apples look adorable under the glass domes!?! I can’t wait to work on my next Back To School Brunch project!
