Stars & Stripes Painted Blocks

I’m SO excited to be teaming up with a group of AUH-MAZING ladies for this year’s Red White and Blue Blog Hop!

Red White and Blue Food Decor and Craft Ideas

Looking for a super easy 4th of July craft!?!

These Stars & Stripes Painted Blocks are perfect for summer décor and are SO easy to make!

stars and stripes blocks supplies

  • paint brush
  • red, white, and blue paint
  • 3 wood blocks
  • tape (painters or use washi tape like I did)
  • antiquing solution
  • star stickers

painting stripes

Tape off stripes and paint them white.

white stripes

Peel off the tape as soon as you are done with your stripes especially if you aren’t using painters tape like me.

red stripes

Add the red stripes.

star stickers

Create a star stencil by removing the stars from the sticker sheet. (I actually stuck them to the back of the sheet so they could be used later.)

ready to paint stars

Stick the star stencil to the blank wooden block.

paint white stars

Paint the stars.

white stars

Peel off the stencil as soon as you paint your last star.

Carefully paint on the blue around the white stars. After all the paint has dried you can create a softer look with Martha’s Antique Effect.

These would make a darling hostess gift for a 4th of July event, wouldn’t they!?!

Now let’s hop around….
