My boys love to paint and since March Madness is almost here I thought it would be fun to do a little Q-Tip Painting Basketballs!
Supplies:

- Craft Paint { we used Martha Stewart Crafts Paint in Carrot
}
- Q-Tips
- Basketballs Outline printed out on white cardstock
Click on the Basketball Outline and save to print! You could watercolor these like the Eggs & Shamrocks, too!
Dip the Q-Tip in the orange paint and start dotting away! Remind your kiddos to stay in the basket ball lines. This is great fine motor practice!!
Dot away until all the basketballs are full.
Aren’t they darling!?! They are just as cute as the Q-Tip Painted Footballs we did a while back!
Now you can let them dry and enjoy them OR…
Make a Basketball Garland!
Gather these supplies:
- Q-Tip Painting Basketballs
- Hole Punch {we used Fiskars 1/16 Inch Circle Hand Punch
}
- Scissors
- Baker’s Twine
Cut out the basketballs {a great opportunity for your kiddos to practice their cutting skills}.
Punch two holes in the tops of the basketballs.
String the basketballs onto the baker’s twine.
Hang and enjoy your mini basketball garland!
Wouldn’t this be darling for a basketball party or for March Madness!?!
Your basketball garland is so cute. Bet your boys had great time filling them in with dots.
Could use any kind of ball or subject, love this idea. Enjoy and have fun with this. Thanks for sharing this. Great activity for kids to do some creating on their own, never too early.
Happy weekend
Thanks! It is a fun project that takes such little prep time and those are my favorite kinds of activities!
