Happy Monday Friends! I’m SO excited to be apart of this fabulous fall home tour!!! I have a bit of a confession though, I started to look around and worry that my house wasn’t good enough. {Horrible feeling!} I had thoughts of doing all of these grand projects that would knock your socks off but then it wouldn’t be real. I decided to treat you like the friends that you are and show you what you would really see if you came over to my house this fall. I hope you are able to get a couple ideas for your home or at least enjoyed the tour! So let’s get started…
Let’s start with the front porch and my fabulous orange door, a quick & easy fall wreath, and
some faux pumpkins spray painted gold around some vintage milk jugs with wheat stalks.
While standing at the front door this seating area is to your left. My parents got us these rockers for Christmas years ago and they were the best gift! Micah and I sit in these chairs while watching the kids play out front with the neighborhood kids. I was going to paint something on the reclaimed wood hanging on the wall but I kind of love it just as it is so I haven’t done anything with it yet. {I’ll keep ya posted if I change my mind!} I love this fall watering can filled with more wheat stalks and that geometric gold and white pumpkin is always a crowd pleaser! It took forever to paint, but I still love it a year later so that says something!
So before we actually go into the house if you came over on a day that it wasn’t raining most likely we would be outside….
We are a soccer family {if you are a soccer family too, you should check out these cupcakes!} so this net is out all fall just waiting for a neighborhood full of kids to play!
My favorite place in our back yard is by the fire pit! It’s a great place to chat with guests, just as a couple, or I’m hanging out alone I’m cuddling up with a blanket, a chi tea latte, and a good book.
While we’re talking about my alone time this is an update to my craft space. We took the desk that we turned rustic from Gray’s room {his room is small so I want to make a smaller desk for his space.} so I have a place to write and Micah has a space to work when he’s working from home.
Ok back let’s go back to the front of the house to continue the fall home tour….
This is the view when you enter through the front door.
My living room is actually the only place that I really decorate for fall. {I do quite a bit for Halloween and then add a few things here and there for Thanksgiving so stay tuned!}
This is where you know we are friends! I keep some of Kell’s puzzles up on top of the vintage lockers so we don’t lose any pieces and he plays with this little dino popper thing right there on the floor.
Where I added a little touch of fall on my coffee table by filling a bowl full of wine corks and nuts as well as another dish with glittered pumpkins and acorns. {This girl loves a little glitter!} See that cube?
It’s Table Topics, have you heard of it? The cube is filled with random questions to get conversation started. It’s fun to play with new and old friends…you learn so much about eachother!!
Let’s take a closer look at the mantle…
This is another gold spray painted polka-a-dotted pumpkin with a chalkboard paint in the middle.
My pedestals are filled with balls covered in feathers. {How fun are they!?!}
These shelves are another area where I get to seasonally decorate. I love the color of these leaves! They are in old Starbucks Frappuccino bottles that have the labels peeled off and are filled with shredded book pages.
We actually made this piece together. Micah is an amazing welder and he whipped the metal frame together in no time. A friend picked up these amazing vintage milk crates for us and I sewed some drop cloth liners for them. {They are home to more of Kell’s toys.} The drawers on top are super simple to make and would make awesome trays {a tutorial coming soon!}.
Here’s the view from the kitchen…
See that blue tub on the table by the door? I put the stuff that I needs to make it out the door with me in there. It’s SO handy!
But these…oh how I love these! {A garage date night tutorial coming soon!!}
Now let’s head into the dining area…
I don’t really decorate for fall in here other than on my chalkboard.
I’ve been working on bringing more scripture into our lives so I wanted lots of room to write around my fall message. It’s going to get messy soon so let’s enjoy it while it’s neat & tidy!!
I put our little prayer sticks on the a wood round to add a little rustic touch. See that sign hanging on the hutch?
Over the summer I did a book study and in the book the author talked about having something in a high traffic area that every time you saw it you would pray for your family. This is my prayer focus piece. I don’t decorate in my kitchen at all for the seasons so you can see what our kitchen looks like here. {Trust me it’s quite the transformation!}
Now on to the TV room…
There’s just a few touches in this room.
I love this graphic thankful chart that is above Kell’s learning table.
I try to have at least one activity per day for him to work on his skills. He loves letters!!
The other place that I add a little something is on this soon to be gone {we have more plans for our TV room!! It’s SO not done!} side table. A little sporty art, a special rock Ash found, a vintage D that needs to find a real home, a basket with old school style library cards & some sight word flashcards, my latest issue of HGTV magazine {which I still haven’t had a chance to read!}, a stack of books for the kids, and magazines for me!
I hope you were able to get a couple ideas for your home or at least enjoyed my fall home tour! Don’t stop here….
