I’ve been SO excited to share this Hello Goodbye Statement Overnight Bag and some SUPER fun news with you guys! Remember when I shared that picture of the arrival of my new Cricut Explore™ machine on Instagram!?!

Well, the reason why I got that AUH-MAZING happy mail was because I’m participating in the Cricut Design Space Star contest! For the next couple months Cricut will be challenging teams of fabulous bloggers {I’m on Team #15} to create projects using their new machine the Cricut Explore™. This month’s Challenge was Fashion/Gear and my team chose the theme, Designer Inspired.

I quick searched Fall Fashion Trends 2014 and found these Statement Clutches by Karen Walker. I’m not a big clutch girl…I’m still balancing a toddler on my hip but I love the bold graphic statement on these!

While on a shopping trip at Hobby Lobby I found these black quilted duffel bags that would make the perfect overnight bag. My favorite Karen Walker clutch said HELLO AND GOODBYE. I found my perfect Designer Inspired project… a Hello Goodbye Statement Overnight Bag!

I used Cricut Design Space™ to create my statement. The Cricut Design Space™ has a ton of cool fonts you can use but you can also use all the fonts on your computer! I love this feature!! I am obsessed with the bebas neue font and it’s SO perfect for a bold statement bag.

Since I was going to be using iron-on vinyl I needed to flip my design into a mirror image.

*If you are doing this with your Cricut there is a box you check when looking at the Mat Preview {you get to the Mat Preview by click the green C go button on the top menu}. Follow the directions turning the dial to iron-on; put a piece of white iron-on vinyl on the cutting mat {plastic cover side down}; and you’re ready to cut. Easy peasy!

I peeled the negative vinyl off the sheet, leaving my letters attached to the plastic.

Since this was my 1st iron-on vinyl project, I was scared so I cut HELLO apart from GOODBYE. I didn’t want to ruin all the letters incase I totally messed up. I was worried about nothing.

I following the directions that came with the iron-on vinyl and everything worked just as it should. Next time I’ll do the whole image together.

After my HELLO was applied, I applied GOODBYE.
