I wanted to add a little nautical flair to my living room and what could be easier than creating some nautical blocks!?!
I actually had these blocks already pre-cut and sanded from making BOO blocks for Halloween a few years ago. I painted the edges with some acrylic white paint.
While that dried I cut paper to fit my 2″x4″ blocks.
I mod podged the paper onto the front of the blocks and then applied a thin layer of mod podge over the top.
Then I used my Cameo to cut out the word AHOY and an achor from navy cardstock. To attach the letters and achor I cut apart foam stickie things (that’s a technical term) to lift them off the wood blocks and give the blocks a bit of dimension.
I made two sets…which one do you like better?
Here’s what the red ones look like in their home in my living room. Cute, no!?! This would be a quick and easy project to try to link up to this month’s Make Along Monday!
