I’m loving decorating with red, white, and blue for the summer! Our back porch gets a lot of use in the summer. It’s the place where we eat most of our meals, play games, and watch the kids play in the yard. We already have blue and white pillows for our chairs and this blue truck door that we painted Dolen Bros. Farm in cream and red that hangs on the side of the house but we needed another touch of red. I loved the idea of making a flag wreath but there wasn’t a spot big enough for a round wreath to hang so I decided that a rectangular wreath was in order.
I was about to go out and try to find a metal grid to buy that I could use for the base and then I remembered that we had this grate that goes into our microwave that we have never used!
I covered some clothes pins with red, white, and blue scrapbook paper by mod podging the paper onto the pins.
Once they were dry I clipped them on the grate. Here’s the pattern I clipped in.
I love the way it turned out! Festive patriotic fun!
Here it is hanging on the side of the house next to our slider.
